Great Success for Busch at FoodEx 2012

Busch UK Limited demonstrated the latest developments in the field of vacuum and low pressure pumping technology for the food and packaging industry at FoodEx 2012. The focus of this year’s show was the topic of cost reduction and performance improvement in food processing applications.

Ian Graves, Managing Director of Busch (UK) Limited, said: “In this day and age the most pressing company subjects are cost reduction and continuity of their process. Of course, this doesn’t solely apply to their vacuum applications but to all areas in the factory. Busch UK Limited partners all major Food Groups in the UK in order to drive down energy and maintenance costs and also to improve the longevity and efficiency of their vacuum and low pressure equipment and systems.”

In order to be able to achieve this uptrend in performance and downwards trend in costs Busch UK Limited help their customers in selecting the right type of vacuum and low pressure pump technology for each individual process, by setting up fixed cost service contracts and remanufacture rates as well as choosing the right type of lubricant and in installing tailor made centralised vacuum systems. An established team of four food specialists focuses exclusively on food customers.

The most widely used product in vacuum packaging applications is the Busch R 5 oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump which again proved to be the most popular product with the visitors on the Busch stand at FoodEx this year. According to Ian Graves, “Visitors came on the stand to see the most reliable vacuum pump for the food market and the one selected by all major Food Packaging OEM’s – they can’t all be wrong! The most convincing arguments for R 5 pump are low maintenance demands, low energy consumption and proven reliability over a lifetime of more than 15 years. Since all of our pumps are fitted with the new generation of IE2 motors this enables further benefits to our customers due to lower energy consumption.”

“We were also very pleased to see that there was much interest in the new TYR Blower for overpressure applications such as pneumatic conveying of ingredients or waste collection. Generally speaking almost everyone talks about cost reduction and increased productivity and we feel that the features on our stand really hit the nail on the head! The show was a great success for Busch!”

Busch is the global market leader for vacuum and low pressure pumps in food and packaging applications and offers a comprehensive product portfolio. As a pioneer in vacuum packaging, Busch has nearly 50 years of international experience in this field. The R 5 oil lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump is the most common vacuum pump for vacuum packaging with over two million pumps in operation worldwide. The continuously developed R5 vacuum pump is today's most economical solution for almost every application in the food and packaging industry.
