Busch Is The Condiment Choice For The Anglesey Sea Salt Company

Busch (UK) Ltd, the Telford, Shropshire, based vacuum pump and blower manufacturer, has supplied two specially modified Mink pumps equipment to the Anglesey Sea Salt Company.

Two specially modified Mink pumps were installed at the Anglesey based company as part of a £150,000 expansion. The pumps were supplied to circulate steam to enable the company to evaporate seawater under a vacuum thereby lowering energy costs.

The two Mink’s needed to be specially modified, by coating the interior of the pumps because of the corrosion that takes place in this type of application due to the aggressive nature of sea water.

David LeaWilson, director of Angelsey Salt, said: “Busch were selected due to their hands on attitude to our needs. Continuity of supply is paramount in our industry and enables us to supply our product to some of the best food outlets in the world.

“Development of the special internal coating was researched in the UK as well as Germany and Switzerland and Busch’s attitude throughout the project was highly commendable.”

Anglesey Sea Salt Co produces a premium salt sold in nine countries to blue chip customers including Harvey Nichols and Fortnum & Mason.

Mink is described by Busch as offering high efficiency, non-contacting operation with low maintenance. Regulation of frequency, volume flow and differential pressure is a feature of the design therefore providing flexibility, whilst minimising energy consumption.

The Mink rotary claw vacuum pump is available with suction capacities of 60 to 500 m/h. Providing vacuum levels down to 20mbar (a) and 2 bar (g) overpressure.
